The 2018 Racing Season
7th. October - SVTTA Bill Lennon Trophy
It was courageeous riders that faced the course and returned times to the time keeper in this year's Tour de Trossachs.
With the rain coming down in torrents and high winds the riders were arriving back at race HQ shivering to the bone.
Only 4 members of the Group failed to start on the day.
The Speed Family Trophy - SVTTA 15 mile championship
16th. September - SVTTA Boomerang Trophy
The Pinky Willams Trophy - SVTTA 30 mile championship
The Reilly and Jim Sharp trophies - SVTTA 100 mile championship and handicap
1st. JulyBen Smith Trophy - SVTTA 25 mile championship
The weather gave
this event a bonus with a lot of good times resulting. Jim Cusick continues to
claim SVTTA Championships while Neil Pendrich was not only 2nd on Standard
but also a member of the 1st team on standard alongside Derek
McMillan. Neil was also placed 3rd in
the open event. The only downside at this event was
the number of DNSs - we hope that a lot of letters of apologies
were on their way to the organiser..
Harry Roberts Trophy - SVTTA 50 mile championship
A lovely sunny morning greeted
the sixty riders in this event although most finishers were saying that the wind that
sprung up was a bit troublesome. Jim
Cusick has added the fifty championship
to the ten championship that he won earlier in the year.
John Cramb Trophy - SVTTA 25 mile handicap championship
It's a great pleasure to write
that long standing Group member Alisdair Washington won
the John Cramb Trophy. Unfortunately,
two events in the Central Belt on the same weekend possibly robbed the above event
of entries. The S.V.T.T.A. would like to thank the
organiser Dan Ewing and Boabsawheeler for
looking after its interests in this event. The Group
welcomes Michael Dennison and Ron Lowe
into our merry bunch. The fastest ride of the day was returned by Jamie Davidson with
50 min. 46 sec, not only putting his name on the club trophy but also a smile on the
Jim & Betty Train trophy - SVTTA 10 mile championship
Forty one Group members entered this event, 12 of whom were DNS on the day.
The morning started off
chilly until the sun broke through. The event was well marshalled and
the road surface was to everyone's liking.
Jim Cusick was the vet
kingpin on the day taking 4th. in the open event and winning the SVTTA
Championship, plus 1st. team on standard.
