Championship Events

21st. June  - The Harry Roberts Trophy - SVTTA 50 mile championship
Fifty nine veterans including thirty one from S.V.T.T.A. entered and rode the open event to honour the memory of Alistair Speed.
Although the sun shone brightly a strong wind prevented some riders from returning better times.

The S.V.T.T.A. welcome the influx of new members especially Sandra Tulloch and we hope that more women will be encouraged to join.
The championship result can be downloaded here.

19th. April - SVTTA 15 mile championship
A new event run on extended version of the Cambusbarron 10 course, starting and finishing nearer Stirling and turning at the Kippen roundabout.
Derek Stewart emerged as the new SVTTA 15 mile champion with a ride of 39:15 for a +7:35.
Thanks to Davie Millar and the Glasgow Couriers for organising this event.
SVTTA championship result here.

12th. April
- Jim and Betty Train Trophy - SVTTA 10 mile championship
Spring arrived in Scotland over Thursday and Friday of the preceding week with warm sunshine and temperatures touching the 20s.
Sadly it decided to return from whence it came for the weekend's racing and competitiors at Cambusbarron on the Sunday were greeted by chill winds and persistent cold rain; normal service was resumed..

Despite the weather some very respectable times were recorded and Derek Stewart agin retained the trophy with his 30:58 for +5.00 on standard. Dooleys' Billy McFarlane and West Lothian Clarion's Frank Anderson occupied the other steps on the podium.

Enough of this rambling. Read Tam O'Ranter's fine report on the day's proceedings He knows, he was there!

The SVTTA result can be downloaded here.
Thanks again go to the Law Wheelers for organising this event.
